
Kana began her dance training at the early age of three. She studied at the Mayumi Minokami Ballet Academy and performed in their productions of Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Giselle. Lana came to America in 1997 and has since performed throughout the United States with the Kin Dance Company and AnNamx Dance Productions.
She has locally performed in Jazz Dance L.A. and Dance Spectrum. Kana currently teaches Ballet at Hama's Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex, Edge Performing Arts Center and Mayfield Senior High School in Pasadena. As a dancer in Kenji Yamaguchi's works, she was described by the Los Angeles Times as "elegantly tethered to an earthbound sorrow."

Her solo work has also been called gripping and soul-searching. She also worked in the movie "Memories of a Geisha" as a Japanese traditional dancer.
