Millennium Dance Complex and Feed The Children are launching the Campaign to provide 5 to 10 semi-trailer truck loads of food and essentials to struggling families. Each truck supplies 400 families of four with food and essentials to help them through the holiday season.
The Millennium Dance Complex is promoting “Dance Away Hunger” with Feed The Children from November through December at the dance studio. Millennium will also do Master Classes where they will reach out to Celebrities and their Choreographers to teach some of these classes. The campaign will get underway via the social network. Feed The Children operates in all 50 states across America. In 2010 our American’s Feeding American’s Caravan provided 250,000 families of four with food and resources through partner agencies. We were among the first to provide disaster relief for victims of tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes in America and worldwide. Over 4.7 million pounds of school supplies and books were given to homeless and low-income children in the United States public schools in 2010. Internationally, 400,000 children were fed daily in orphanages and schools in developing countries. Forty-two million children in 26 countries received doses of life-saving de-worming medication through our medical outreach. Feed The Children is in its 32nd year of operation and continues to provide food, medicine and hygiene products to children and families who lack these resources due to poverty, natural disaster, war and famine.
Millennium Dance Complex and Feed The Children are leading the charge to alleviate hunger in Los Angeles County with the “Dance Away Hunger” Campaign.
The campaign is to assist families in Los Angeles County who have lost jobs and/or are forced to choose between paying bills or buying food for their family.
Since the economic downturn, Los Angeles County’s number of homeless children in the public schools is staggering. According to the latest data provided to us by the National association for Education of Homeless Children and Youth (NAEHCY) there are 216,632 homeless youth in the county’s 289 public schools.
